About Eugene Choi
When I was 30, a co-worker of mine in my old office job, was clearing out his basement and selling off his old toys that he wasn't using. He had a box with an old pentax k1000, a couple of lenses, and everything you need to develop and print your own black and white photos. I bought all the gear from him and then setup a basic dark room in my laundry room. That same week, I shot, developed and printed my first roll of film. Seeing the image appear on the paper was like magic, and I was hooked. I devoted much of my time to learning and experimenting with photography. I took courses and workshops when I could. Soon after, people were offering to pay me to do some photography for them. After several years of doing photography on the side, I took the plunge and became a full-time photographer.
I focus on headshots, portraits, products and I occasionally photograph dogs.
I live in Toronto with my wife Catherine, and our nutty dog, a german short-haired pointer named "Beans"
