So I actually showed this video to a bunch of my friends that I was shooting on Sunday. They found it a great resource teaching themselves about forehead out and down. When the second group of friends arrived later, the first group told me that they should watch the video too. It certainly made directing my friends a lot easier as they had a previous frame of reference.
Peter, is there any way we could get access to the video other than the PH2 site here? There a way to make it available on Vimeo so we could link to it from our Vimeo page or something? I guess I could always show it to people at the studio but it might be nice to have them practice in advance. Piracy will be the issue though....
Keeping the stuff private by putting it on here. That's the plan with all the coaching tools. Scott Kelby is supposed to use it on his site, so you may just be able to send people there and I might open it up on vimeo. Keep you posted on that.
Hey Peter, this was a great blog post. Perfect for the fine details of positioning the forehead to accentuate the jawline. Particularly pointing out the shadow lines. Awesome!
You know what, I'm thinking of putting together a before and after shot like this for each client so that when future clients walk in I can clearly show them the difference. Might even just pick one or two people I've shot before and do that with. It's always super helpful when I can "show" a client exactly what I want them to do.
That is wonderful! Thank you for sharing this experience! I found (or noticed) this crappy jaw line on some of my recent pictures. I was thinking about this, but some time it is better not to use the brains 'Knowledge' but experiment instead. Thank you again.
Awesome video Peter! I love the chiropractor line! Haha. Really good stuff.
Thanks for the great blog post! A perfect refresher for my next shoot!
Well worthwhile. Thanks Peter!

Either that or they just like to laugh at me.
I did the same thing with a guy this morning. He wouldn't get his damn chin out and I showed him this and he finally got it!
Karaminder and Peter....good idea!

That is great, and I really enjoy the generosity in your style.
Glad you guys like it! I'm going to start beefing up the site with a video a week. Stay tuned!
Great video Peter. Really drives home some concepts from The Art Behind the Headshot.
very helpful!
This should be up on Kelby training in the next few days.
Great video... really adds some great extra info and more practical examples with the jawline.
You could do one like these on the squint also.
